Over the month, Orange County lost 1,900 jobs with the following sectors recording the biggest changes: Government (-3,900); Construction (+1,600); and Trade, transportation and utilities (-600). The county has added 17,900 jobs over the year. The county’s unemployment decreased to 5.4% from 5.8% the month prior, yet still remaining lower than the California (7.4%) and national (6.1%) rates.
